El 31 de diciembre de 2010, 14 barcos tomaron la salida de la Barcelona World Race para cubrir las más de 25,000 millas de la única vuelta al mundo a vela con dos tripulantes cada uno y sin escalas; contado desde una perspectiva privilegiada, ésta es la historia verídica de una aventura en la que queda explícita la importancia de la confianza en el compañero, la humildad frente a las fuerzas imponentes y temibles de la naturaleza y el desarrollo de aptitudes para enfrentar el miedo, el cansancio, el desánimo y la incertidumbre. El objetivo era circunnavegar el globo y regresar a Barcelona tras atravesar los mares más violentos, inhóspitos y remotos del planeta y soportar las condiciones más duras que puedan darse en el océano.
